Storing an AX15?

Recommended Posts

Just got an AX15 from a 91 MJ and can't install it for a while. To store it in my garage, can I stand it up on the bell housing? Should I drain it first or is that not necessary ? :dunno: It'll be after the first of the year before I can install it..

If you stand it up, drain it. If you don't stand it up, it's not necessary. If you remove the shifter to store it, make sure you seal off that hole too.

OK I'll drain it. Any ideas what's good to seal off the shifter hole?

Thanks for the help.

Flat piece of plastic and tiny bit of RTV. Just drill 4 holes in the plastic and bolt it on.

Also, if you have an extra slip yoke around, it wouldn't hurt to stick it in the back, be better than taping a bag over it.
