CEThomas
I got new u-bolts for the 8.8 at the local spring shop. Now looks like I need new u-bolt plates as the old ones are just TOO small. Know where I can buy just the plates? Thanks, Charles

88MJay
The last couple sets I did I think I just opened up the holes in the existing spring plates with a die grinder or a drill bit or something. If I remember correctly it's not fun and takes a good half hour or so a piece to get them opened up enough to work.
CEThomas
Thanks, Was going to cut them but looks like would only have 1/8" on the outside ends. Charles
88MJay
Hmm... never ran into that. I did it on a set of XJ plates and a set of YJ plates before. I don't know what they look like but would a junkyard set of 8.8 plates work? Couldn't be more than a few bucks if they would.
pingpong
My suggestion is to use a set of f150 spring plates, or buy a new set. Matt at Independent has them in stock... not sure of the price, but can't be but so much
CEThomas
Thanks, 89MJay The plates on the MJ are small to fit up into the shock mount. Charles
