btm24 Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 Does any body know what the Torqure specs for the rear brake caliper bolts would be on a Ford 8.8? Thanks Brandon
xjrev10 Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 "Torque" Torque to SBM  JK, I have always just tightened them well tight with a 3/8 ratchet. Nothing to specific :dunno:
btm24 Posted April 28, 2011 Author Posted April 28, 2011 Ok well thanks any ways I just tighted it to 80" lbs. Brandon

btm24 Posted April 29, 2011 Author Posted April 29, 2011 SBM= ~~torque too "Slight Bowl Movement" cute ;) I don't think ill have to worry about the rear brakes for along time now :D Brandon
comanche12 Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 i never check up for tq spec on brakes wheni work on it for many years. caliper bracket bolt tend just tight it up with enough lever. but caliper bolt-don't just tight it well. just tight as snug. tight with 6" ratchet is good enough on caliper bolt.

And I just realized Ive been speelling torque wrong  Brandon
xjrev10 Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 every bolt on the jeep probably had a engineer that figured out the optimum torque for each one. just something to complicate everything IMO.
comanche12 Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 yeah :agree: but really yes even sparkplugs hav tq spec. i rather tq it than strip the thread and have to replave the cylinder head :ack: :peek: or use helicoil than replace the cylinder head. :smart:
xjrev10 Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 I can agree with following torque specs for engine stuff.
