nameless
i've read a few different things and know how to do it on the newer style any pics or write-ups on exactly what to loosen on the 88 4.0 renix ultimately i'm trying to replace the alternator, thanks
mj Mike
it is much more complicated on the renix there is 4 bolts you have to loosen before you loosen the tenchener bolt. first one is above the P/S pulley then one under the pulley 13mm or 1/2'' then there is two more on the back of the P/S pump bracket loosen both with an open end wrench 13mm or 12mm then loosen the tenchener bolt under the pulley parallel W/the belt continue until the belt is loose. :wrench:
Geonovast
Photobucket seems to have deleted the other one :hmm: , but on the bottom of the PS pump, there's a long horizontal bolt that is the actual adjustment.
Boots
I replaced the alternator on mine not too long ago. It's easier to do it from the bottom. You won't have to remove the battery tray and I don't believe the alternator fits out the top any ways. The belt comes off just like mjMike said except you have to loosen another bolt on the end of the tensioner bolt. It should be pretty straight forward.
