99+ Belt ?

Recommended Posts

i am doing a 99+ intake swap W/ power steering pump & bracket W/ idler pully.

this is the diagram i referenced off 99+ 4.0l

i don't run A/C & i run my alternator on top in the A/C location

looks more like this

my ? is does any one else running 99+ belt & have clearance problem between the timing cover & the belt?

i will move that hose clamp on the water pump. butt it looks like it will still hit the timing cover?

Yup, that little hole thing on the timing cover does not exist on the ~94+ belt setup. Just went through this last weekend trying to put one on and decided it wasn't worth the trouble to try and cut that off at the time.

I ran in to the same problem when i installed my stroker with the 99 intake and belt routing hiting the 88 timing cover, I just got a dremel in there and cut 1/2" off of the hole..... for what its wort :hmm: h

Yup, this is what you need to do. Also for the record and anyone who finds this thread later, if you don't use the newer AC mounting bracket then you need to remove the old idler pulley from next to the AC to use the newer tensioner.

The newer design is far better.

Yep, forgot about the pulley removal. It's identical to the other idler pulley also so you can use it as a spare.
