Frankdm83 Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 I need to get my MJ through PA state inspection next week. The only issue I have is that the taillights light, but the passenger side pone does not brighten when the brake is pressed. The driver side does. It will not work with the 4 ways either. I tried the easy fix, new bulbs, but got the same result. Anyone else ever have this issue?
Pete M Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 there is a connector in the wire harness right behind the drivers side tire. Corrosion in there robbed me of brake lights for a while. :(
Pete M Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 yes. it could be glitching just the left turn indicator which would kill both the indicator and that side of the brake lights. also check for any evidence of a trailer harness hacked in at the back.
Frankdm83 Posted February 20, 2011 Author Posted February 20, 2011 I am pretty sure there was no trailer harness. I will have to look into when the wind dies down some. I was hoping it was something simple, but 3 or of 4 corners workign won't cut it.
Pete M Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 hopefully you can get away with just cleaning up the insides of the connector. :thumbsup: Mine was horrific so I ditched it and spliced in an aftermarket connector.
