I used to own a CJ-10a tug..Neat little rig, L6 diesel engine, allison trans, transfercase locked in low range, 2wd, D70 rear, HEAVY! About 6500 lbs..

Ended up trading it away. Never ran when I had it, parts extremely expensive and the parts it needed where obviously taken off before I got because they have value.

Ya I think I'm going to have to add a "one of these days" projects to the list for a tug converted to pickup with a CJ-7 grill.

 

(gotta get one with a diesel of course).

actually classified as a DJ, not a CJ. diesel powered. isuzu, IIRC.

Nissan SD33, not all are diesel.

 

The truck was the CJ-10

The tug was the CJ-10a

 

The DJ was the ubiquitous mail jeep based on the CJ5.

I've been wanting to do one of these for awhile now! I love them. I'd leave the grill and headlights the way they are though.
