duradiesel
So i got my first 1990 4.0 4x4 MJ and i have bought a new valve cover gasket, cap and rotor, fuel filter, spark plugs, CPS, exhaust system, and vaccuum hoses. It has 54K on the odometer and while i'm stationed in italy I need to know what i should start replacing to insure that it runs good. Right now it will just die while going down the road. i just start it back up and keep going. What should be my next step. Thanks.
btm24
Congrats on the 54k thats amazing. Also start wrighting up your "to do list" for her. Things like oil changes, idle air control valve if, and cleaning the fuel injectors things like that can help alot! Brandon

87Chief
If it just dies going down the road sounds like alternator to me...
jimoshel
If it just dies going down the road sounds like alternator to me... If the alternator was bad the battery would be dead and he couldn't start it again. Check CPS first.
