Comanche_Fanatic
hey I'm taking out my entire fuel system fro the tank to the engine. the tank itself is very dirty and dented in some areas. i may have to purchase one, the sending unit had a bad leak on it whenever i fill the gas past 3/5 full. the fuel pump and both filters are brand new and could be cleaned a bit. however if i had to get new parts for the entire fuel system, where would i look? the Dealership does NOT have them. parts I'm looking for.. (on 1990 MJ swb 2.5 4x2) -fuel tank (15+ gal) -fuel pump sending unit -fuel lines (both metal and rubber) hoping these parts will fit with oem fuel pump, and both filters. any ideas would be greatly appreciated
lostissues
pretty sure for the sending units they don't make them anymore. best thing is get them used (very hard to find). or have yours fixed there are a few sites that offer that service. Comanche_Fanatic
yeah fixing a sending unit is difficult, especially when theyre cracked and rusty. ill try my best tho
lostissues
my sender was cracked around the inlet and outlet tubes, both the tubes were able to spin. I managed to braze them and it turned on pretty well.

freakjeep93
more or less welding with a rod of filler metal and a acetlyne torch. you pretty much melt a stick of filler metal into you gap or crack. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brazing
Comanche_Fanatic
ah gotcha, i have a friend who welds. I'm sure he knows how to do that. thanks man ps. any way of preparing the sending unit before it needs welding, so fire hazards won't happen?
