kyleag89
Ok so I am buying new rims for my truck because I want the wheels to stick out further than stock. IMHO the stock wheels sticking in soo far looks terrible. I used to have a set of AR outlaws on my mj and they looked much better. I am looking at wheels that are 15" and 15x7. I want to use my tires I have now that are 235/75-r15 on them. In the near future I will be buying a set of BFG T/As that are 31x10.5 R15. Will these fit on 15x7 rims or should I go with 15x8s instead?
Dirteatr717
They'll fit fine on the 15x7s... They'll be a little taller and the 15x8 should give you a flatter tread, whichever you prefer they'll both work
kyleag89
Ok but if I get 15x8s will stock tires fit on them until I buy the 31s?
Pete M
You do realize that the rear will always be more tucked in than the front, yes? How about some spacers for only the rear to balance it out?
Dirteatr717
Yes I have 235/75/15s on my 15x8 cragar soft 8s with 4" of backspacing
mvusse
235s are supposed to be on a 6" to 7" wide rim. They will fit on an 8" wide rim, but don't be surprised if you end up with one or more tires leaking on the bead and/or the tires wearing faster on the edges than in the middle. For both 235/75 metric tires and 31x10.50 I would go with a 7" wide rim.
