Kenbob
Haven't seen any talk of synthetic used in the peugot tranny. My new ride has 189000 and the peugeot tranny. It doesn't appear to have had hard use and I don't intend to give it any. Tranny works fine except going into second it wants to grind a little when cold (below freezing). Any issues with using synthetic in these beasts?
ParadiseMJ
Any (including synthetic) 75/90 gear oil should be fine for light duty. I use Pennzoil Syncromesh (not synthetic) in my Peugot. If you haven't changed out your box fluid, do it. Mine shifts 200% better than when it was full of the C-R-A-P that was in there. WAAAAY too long on the change interval. Looked like the PO had never changed it.
whowey
No problems with using synthetic in a Pukey... You will notice easier shifting in the cold weather with a synthetic over a dino. A Pukey does not have yellow metal synchros so that is a non-concern.
