cocy Posted December 23, 2010 Share Posted December 23, 2010 in the next few days I planing on changing my u-joints in my front axel. and changing the fluid in the diff. is there anything else I should look/change while I'm doing this? any input would be great. Automan2164 Posted December 27, 2010 Share Posted December 27, 2010 Yes, and I would change it if you'll be that deep in. You'll have to pull the differential carrier, and knock them out... But I have never had a set that didn't leak out of the tubes after pulling axle shafts. I always replace them. You will need a torque wrench to put the bearing caps back on the carrier bearings. cocy Posted December 27, 2010 Author Share Posted December 27, 2010 ok this might sound dumb but I went down to the parts store and got the ujoints and told them I need the seals for the front axle shafts and they were saying there was an inner and outter and when they showed them to me there were just rubber.
