86ComancheXNate Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 I just got my radio working again. For some reason when I replaced the fuses it got messed up and wouldnt turn on. Now it works but whenever I hit a bump or something it cuts of or changes stations. It makes it almost darn near impossible to listen to the radio while driving. Any suggestions?
jimoshel Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Loose connection. If your not a tech forget it and get a new one.
86ComancheXNate Posted December 17, 2010 Author Posted December 17, 2010 I think it might be a bad ground wire. I'm having a lot of other electrical issues. Like all the lights keep fading in a little and when I put my turn signal on the radio cuts out. My ground wire it kind of shredded close to the block I'll try to get a picture later.
jimoshel Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Probably not. If it's frayed then yes, replace it. There is another ground for the body, chassis. Look on the left fender well. Make sure it's clean and tight. There is also a ground connection for the dash. I'm not sure where it's at. I think by the steering column.
91coMANche Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 I'm facing the same exact situation. I suspect it is the radio itself. Mine even does the flicker with turn signals. I got my eye on a couple low miles vehicles with factory radios. The yard is pricey but if it works its better than installing one of those horrid aftermarket options. Let me know if you can't find a radio and I can try and grab you one at the yard.
