Bounty Hunter
I have 5.5" coils which is slightly taller than your combined spring/spacer setup, but it's close. My LCA's needed to be 17" and my UCA's 16.25" center of bolt hole to center of bolt hole.
feerocknok
What I've gathered: Rusty's sends out 16.75" lower control arms with their 5" kit, and 16.25" for their 4" kit, so a little length makes quite a difference. Also, their arms are made of .250 wall DOM. Hardy stuff. How much road time will the truck see? You'll probably want adjustable arms if it sees alot of road time, so that you can use a jam nut to lock them in place for a quiet and more stable ride, that can have it's flex increased on the trail by backing off the nut. Heims are a good route to go for a vehicle that sees more time in the dirt. If you want quality, rebuildable heims, they cost a pretty penny. As for construction, I assume you plan on keeping the stock mounting locations, which means you'll need to fix your arms with a bend to clear the stock LCA mount on the axle. At 5" of lift, the arms will hit this mount while your suspension is not cycling.
jeepthing07
I orderd fixed LCA's from rusty for a 5" lift and they sent my arms that are 16 1/4 long.... from what i have seen they should be 16 5/8 so i need to call him back i guess. jeepthing07
I called rustys about the LCA's i bought from him he said that if i used the stock upper control arms that 16 1/4 LCA's are what i need and they would work for up to 5.5" of lift. and that i would need longer uppers with 16-3/4 LCA's. just letting you know
feerocknok
Hmm... Going off that fact, my adjustable LCAs won't go short enough with a jam nut on. @#$%.
