once red
Should have my MJ by end of week, and know there are rust issues above rear wheel wells. never used POR-15 before, but I see lots of comments on it. My rustout is mostly surface, but knowing my luck will wind up all the way thru. Do I need to wire brush the rust, and support it from underneath, then brush on the 15 from outside?? Comments/suggestions are appreciated. :brows:
Pete M
Rust you see above the rear wheels is usually NOT surface rust. Our trucks generally rust from the inside-out in that location. There's a ledge inside the fender right above the tire and it collects dirt over time. This dirt attracts and holds moisture (at least that's what happens in locations that have moisture like here in Michigan) and rust-out is inevitable. :(
once red
 So, what I need to do is remove any of the trapped New England guck on the inner ledge, and let it drry, then put the 15 on from the inside?? Or scan I just spread it on from the outside?? Also, is it sandable like Fiberglass? Thanks

CWLONGSHOT
www.4wd.com and many other mail order web sites!! Its good stuff. I have been using www.rustbullet.com lately and like it as well. You do not need to top coat this, its UV safe. BUT you will want to as its silver!!! CW
