I seen that Rocky Road has them i think I could build a set cheaper but then agian I can't weld :oops: So may be these is the way to go but for $340 I just don't think so.

I did mine for LESS tha half of that!! Of course you need to be able to weld. Got any friends that work for beer and pizza??? :brows: :brows:

 

I am also suspect of those. They do have pinch seam contact but only two "frame" contact points. Whats the deal with "Hitch steel" never heard of such a thing. I think its a lame attempt at a marketing truik.

 

I made mine with simular pinch seam contact and FOUR frame contact points. Mine are also welded to the frame.

 

Pete also has some very stout rails, he chose to go thru the frame and weld to BOTH sides!!

Didn't go to the link, but I know hitch tubing doesn't have a seam.

The hitch steel is the same as any other 1/4" wall square tubing except it has large radius corners... Its more for looks, and to empty your wallet even more...

 

Yeah its more for marketing....

I think this has been covered in the past.. I am just not sure if it was here, or jeep forum... which reminds me.. I don't go to that site anymore
