Automan2164
It is normal for a new/rebuilt engine to use some oil until the rings set. You check is right after you got back? Did you give the oil time to get to the pan? Rob L. :dunno:
pug
Yes checked when i got back only 5 miles. Then checked about 1/2 hour later.
jpdocdave
A completely dry engine will take a little more oil than you're used to adding during an oil change also. If you put 6 quarts in the initial fill, and checked it half hour after driving, I'd just top it up, and check it again after next drive. pug
6 quarts in a 2.5 with 10 oz of brake in additive.
dasbulliwagen
Some of the factory manuals will give you dry fill and wet fill amounts, about 2 quarts more than normal 4 quarts for a 2.5 sounds about right. Just add to top off, and re check often to see whats going on.
