If a different type of engine is swapped in will the cruise still work by only modding the linkage from the servo to the new engine's throttle control? jimoshel Posted November 20, 2010 Share Posted November 20, 2010 It gets it's signal from the speed sensor, an electro-mechanical device at the end of the speedometer cable behind the instrument cluster. The turns of the speedo cable is converted to electrical pulses which are fed direct to the cruise control module. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

After a lot of reading it appears the mechanical speedometer cruise is self contained and should work with any engine swap by adapting the throttle linkage.
