Rustybucket Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 ive got a 87 auto(column shift) with a inline six. so all the gauges work except the speedo. i took the cluster from a 1990 jeep. all i did for the speedo was plug in the cable. did i miss something? if yall have any pointers of where i should start looking for solution for my problem.
mvusse Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Non working speedo could be caused by either end of the cable having come unplugged (transfer case end happened to me during a bout of seath wobble). Could also be from a broken cable, but I've never experienced one.
Rustybucket Posted September 29, 2010 Author Posted September 29, 2010 Orginal speedo worked fine yesterday, so cable being broken is out of the question, I'm wondering if I need to swap the "female" part that the cable plugs into?
Comanche County Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 Its possible to "miss the hole" on some speedo cable connectors. Also make sure its screwed all the way in.
