Were to get a new fuel tank

I have a 89 4.0 4x4 Long bed, and its the big fuel tank. Are these normal prices?

Pricing sounds about right. Just make sure it has the internal baffle (pan) and comes with the lock ring. A lot of times they "skimp" on those things to cut the cost.

$150 is what I think I remember paying two years ago. $227 sounds a little steep. But mine was the SWB version, so the tank is a little smaller.

Whats wrong with your current tank? Or do you just need a new one? If you have an older one, you could restore it. On MuscleCar they did a budget build on a gas tank. They cleaned it out, then used POR-15 Metal Ready then a coat of POR-15 Fuel Tank Sealer. They brushed the outside down and sealed it with some Rustoleum. Came out a pretty "new" tank.

 

If you need a new one, you can get a fuel cell for just as much if not less than that as well.

Oh ya i didn't put that, My current started seeping from the seam were they join the top and bottom of the tank together. Not really leaking, but i can smell gas and its a little damp. So its coming real soon, after the tank is empty for sure. I just did a quick check online to get some prices, not sure yet what all those tanks come with.

They come with a tank. Some may (or may not) include a lack ring for the fuel pump mount, but they won't include the O-ring even if they include the lock ring. Mine didn't come with either one -- I bought the lock ring and the O-ring at the dealer.

just an FYI...advance auto can get the lock ring WITH the O-ring for around $13
