Shell Rotella T 15W40

A month or so ago I changed my oil with Shell Rotella T 15W40. I've had the Comanche for 20 years, it's got half a million k's on her and I decided to treat the pick up with better oil.

 

What I have noticed so far,

 

1. The engine is more peppy, get's up to 4000 rpm quicker than usual.

2. I used to be able to see blue smog coming out of the exhaust at 3000-4000 rpm's, now I don't see it.

3. Sensor's indicate the engine is running cooler than usual.

4. I'm not adding oil as often as I used to, plus I don't see the usual oil drips on the ground under the

engine.

 

I was planning on changing the head, but I think I'll wait till next summer if it lasts.

 

I've come to the conclusion that Shell Rotella T 15W40 is freakin' awesome stuff.

Sounds like a good upgrade. Maybe I'll give it a try when I can.

Same deal with Delo 15W40, Amsoil 15W40 and NAPA 15W50 synthetic. These are more like an industrial engine so they prefer good zinc loaded oils.
