feerocknok
Does anyone know if these are the same bolts that the TF909 or 999 use? None of the parts houses have the bolts, and the dealership says they are an "obsolete part", which means they can get em but they'll cost $17.50 a piece. Anyways, there are 909s and 999s in the JY, but I think the 909 and 999 used lock-up converters and I don't know if the bolts'd be the same. By chance, would anyone know? aemsee
Do you have any of the bolts at all? I have a bunch of various TC bolts in my tool box and could probably match you up a set.
feerocknok
I don't have any. The PO dropped the tranny and dissassembled most of it, then I bought it and only got half of it. I'm gonna use a big magnet in his yard and see what I can get. Thanks if I do need any.
Mike T
The 904 is a chrysler transmission. I used to rebuild these and the bolts should be available at your mopar dealer. If not check out your local auto wrecker...Take your torque convertor along to make sure you have the right ones. I can't remember if the bolts are 5/16 or 3/8 but I do know that a 9/16 wrench fit them. Good luck getting it on the road!
feerocknok
It's on the road now. Found a bolt in the driveway of the PO's house and brought the bolt to a tranny shop. The shop then matched the thread pitch and bolt grade and got me 4 new bolts that I ground to length. I will no longer deal with my local dealership as my last dealing with them was the most unfriendly occasion I've had with any business, and my friend's parents own this particular dealership. DirtyComanche
The only dealership that I've ever liked was the chevy one. Mostly because he neither sold me anything, nor tried to. He flat out told me that he could not get what I wanted (an isuzu part) but gave me the names and numbers of about 50 places to try. Then talked to me about jeeps for about a half hour. I wonder why he works there?
feerocknok
If a business gave me that type of freedom, I'd even work for Honda!
