drase
My 87 Manche was repainted by the previous owner, and he knew nothing about Jeep's. So I have no idea if I have a Chief, Pioneer, or Eliminator. I called Jeep and there computer records only went back to 1990 so there was no info they could give me. Anyone know a way I could find out? DJM/78
What are the specs ? D30/44 , D33,35 , AMC rear ? 2X or 4X ? Trac-Loc , towing option ? Buckets or bench . Interior options ? Is there still a door sticker ? I'm not sure but did you run the vin# ?

dasbulliwagen
Chrysler has little to no info for the 87 models. I ran my VIN for my 87 and it comes up but it won't give any details like the 89 and later models will. Your best bet would be if it still has a build sheet hidden in the door or under the seat. The generic VIN decoders won't tell you much. Sorry.

Incommando
So I am guessing that: 1. 1 - Made in USA 2. J - Jeep/AMC 3. T - Truck 4. M - 4.0L AMC Gasoline I-6 MPI 5. P (?) 4- Speed Auto, column shift/4wd 6/7. 63 - Comanche 4WD 6.0' Bed, 113" WB(?) 8. 1 - Comanche Base 4001-5000 Lb. Describes my '88 sportruck-decaled SWB as a 4.0/auto/231 4wd that is pretty basic with a bench seat, manual windows, no slding rear window, but it has the tow package and a trac-loc D44 rear? Incommando
Bummer! Thank you for contacting the Chrysler Customer Assistance Center regarding your 1988 Jeep Comanche. Unfortunately, due to the age of the vehicle, we are unable to fulfill your build sheet request. General information may be available via the internet. Thanks again for your email.
