E brake pedal return spring

Anybody know where I can get an e-brake pedal return spring? Mine doesn't return far enough for the brake light to go out. I googled but didn't find anything that seemed to match up.

I would think just a spring from a hardware store would work :idea: Or.....one one them multy packs from the Help section of your favorite auto parts store.

 

Here's a picture of one, if you need a length, let me know, it will be a couple days before I'm back in the shop.

I've seen cases where the cable gets gummed up and will not allow the pedal to fully release. May want to check that. Unhook the cable and see if the pedal returns all the way. I suppose you could shoot some WD40 down the cable to lube it up. :dunno: Plus clean the old grease off the pedal assembly and replace with fresh. Afterall, it is probably 20 years old if it hasn't been cleaned before.
