Incommando
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1989-Jee ... ccessories I know that as a winch mount these wind up pretty low, but what are the thoughts on this strengthening up the front subframe?
64 Cheyenne
Good bumper does same job. Think cost of hitch Vs cost of good aftermarket bumper. Which you'll probably want in the future. Far as strength, if the front bumper and the bulkhead behind are intact? why? IMHO, If I wanted "beef", I'd buy it once with an aftermarket bumper with/without a winch or receiver.
CWLONGSHOT
I had one for a while on a FORD PU and because we moved trailers all the time I found it VERY USEFUL! I would not recommend it unless you too move allot of trailers. CW
JeepcoMJ
agree with CW. they're AMAZING for moving trailers and such. but they cut into approach angles quite a bit. I'm still working on an idea to get one into my custom front bumper.
johnj92131
Have also been looking for a front mounted hitch. My idea was to carry my Honda Trail 90 on the front while I tow the camping trailer on the rear hitch. Notice Curt front hitches rated at 300 lbs tongue wt. and Draw Tite rated at 500 lbs. Incommando
I would go to look at the detours XJ backbone...
CWLONGSHOT
I would go to look at the detours XJ backbone... That's a conventional winch mount. I happen to have it on mine. Sounds like he wants to use a receiver winch mount and move it front to rear as required... CW
