Need historical jeep info...

I need a big favor guys. I'm working on a powerpoint presentation on a topic of my choice for my senior project and of course I chose jeeps. Now I must admit I know alot about the "newer jeeps" like XJ's, MJ's, YJ's, ZJ's, etc... but don't know much about the very first jeeps that branded the name. If someone could give me a little bit of info about the first military jeeps or older Willy's or something of the sort, it would be greatly appreciated.

Look on youtube for a couple of vids off the History channel... American marvels, or the history of the Jeep... Here is the first part.

Its in five parts, and starts with the story of American Bantam, Ford, and Willys motors, and end up with :vomit: the hummer at the end. Explains the story well with few errors.

Ford didn't, but I think Willys did. But not for long.

 

By the time I was a kid (in the early 1950s), Jeep was sponsoring several of my favorite cowboy shows, and Jeep at that time was Kaiser-Jeep. I think then it was the CJ3A. I thought the CJ2 was a Willys. I know for a fact that Willys made the old, narrow grille, flat-fender pickups and station wagons. Those bore the Jeep name.
