jimoshel Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 A little known fact.... The first testicular guard, the "Cup", was used in Hockey in 1874 and the first helmet was used in 1974. That means it only took 100 years for men to realize that their brain is also important. Ladies.....Quit Laughing. :rotf:

Burls Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 Craig MacTavish was the last guy to play without a brain bucket. Finished up his career playing with the Blues, retiring in 97. 79 was the year that helmets became mandatory for anyone entering the league, anyone signed before june or july of 79 could sign wavier to not wear one. Just a little useless knowledge I figured I'd share.
