Oizarod115
i was gonna ask this in robbie's taillight thread but i do enough hijacking as it is. Ive got a 5spd and i don't think the reverse lights work. should they come on with the key in run (engine not running) and the tranny in R?[/i]
Kenosha Warrior
you need to turn it into the step before the start position for them to come on. The Acc spot (if you can get it, trick. hold down the release tab and twist backwards on the key) won't activate them either. Check the fuse. mine was sitting just slightly out and it was fooling with my rev. lights. and last but not least, wiggle the bulbs, shake the harness below the bed and the tranny sensor. RandysMJ
There's 2 fuses, 1 is labeled reverse lights (i think), the other is marked "trans". Mine wasn't working when i bought it. I looked and the fuse for reverse lights was still good. Then i read around on here and someone mentioned that the 5 spd also uses the "trans" fuse. So i checked and my there and wasn't a "trans" fuse installed. So i put one in and it worked.
Pete M
Other issues can be a bad switch (located in the passenger side of the trans I think) or corrosion in the harness connector located right behind the drivers side rear tire.
