As you may or may not know, California is kind of rough to get vehicles through smog.

I've had issues with techs failing me for various check engine light snafus, and just discovered a new one on my 91 MJ I'd never noticed on any Jeep before.

If I pull the brake release while the key is in the "on" position, the check engine light comes on. Is this normal for a 91 MJ with a 4.0?

Oh that's right, just a maintenance required light....

Thanks

And that one is just on a 50,000 mile timer to replace the O2 sensor.

Well, I passed smog, even with a bad plug wire.

I put a new O2 sensor in it, swapped map sensors with another Jeep, newer cap, new rotor, and what I thought were good plug wires.

It was close but passed.
