The location is about 50 miles northwest of Reno, it's called gold lake and it's above greagle California. The trail to the campsites is only about 2 miles but off the pavement those two miles can take about 45 minutes to an hour or more if there is still snow which I'm guessing there will be. Hubbell Posted May 14, 2010 Author Share Posted May 14, 2010 Just an update on this trip. It looks like it's not going to happen. I drove up there today and you can't even get close to the lake. Talked to the forest ranger and he said the pass still has around ten feet of snow on it and the road department may not plow it this year. So we will have to wait.
