Bonkers Posted October 11, 2006 Share Posted October 11, 2006 I have a notoriously bad window regulator that I can't seem to get a decent repair price on. I have a friend who just took on a sacrifical 88 Xj and he offered me the doors with power windows. I've read posts here about how this is an 'easy' swap, but what parts would I need to take to make it basically bolt-in? I assume my Mj door shells could be used with minor effort right? HOrnbrod Posted October 12, 2006 Share Posted October 12, 2006 If your "sacrifical 88 Xj " was a 4-door, you will have some wiring issues, because the driver master control switches are for all 4 doors, and the associated wiring. Will work if you snip off the drivers door harness for the 2 rear doors, but then you will have a drivers master control with 2 dummy switches for the rear doors. The best/easiest way is to find a 2-door XJ power window harness (or MJ power window harness - lots of luck), which includes the power door locks. You'll also have to get the drivers side master control switches from the 2 door XJ. The passenger door switches are the same. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
