Sir Sam
Now I know why my head is scrambled. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x5odhh ... cro-o_news It's a fake, and this one actually is: http://www.snopes.com/science/cookegg.asp (look towards the bottom for the popcorn)
Squeegy410
Ok, so if a cell phone poroduces 1/1000 as much power as a microwave, why didnt the british program try it with 1000 phones? then they may have gotten somewhere  and does that mean that 1000 phone calls is as much radiation as one session of microwaving your head? because that still sucks haha :clapping:
Sir Sam
It doesn't work that way. There is the energy in the wave, and there is the wavelength, microwaves work because that wavelength excites water molecules in food/whatever, microwaves work less effectively, (much less effectively) on other polarized particles. Solar radiation, for example, has an intensity of 10,000 times what a cell phone will put out(around 100Watts/square meter), yet no one is concerned about solar radiation causing brain cancer. The take home point here is that you could use a million cell phones and they still don't transmit on the wavelength that will excite water molecules. And while we are on the subject, living below power lines and TV antenna's doesn't cause cancer.

Squeegy410
While were on the subject of radiation......... If any single star that we can see in the sky at night were to go super nova it would create enough gamma radiation to completely erode our atmosphere and us with it  The star taht we know of that is closest to going super nova is a red giant on Orians shoulder and is known as Betelguise. It is also the largest star we can see. It is at the very end of its life and should go supernova pretty soon (in astronomical time that is  ) we should be ok for atleast 10,000 years, but thats no time for a star ;)
