bighause Posted March 9, 2010 Share Posted March 9, 2010 My MJ has 3.08 gears which are less than perfect with 33's so I am looking into swapping axles with 4.10's. The dana 30 is pretty easy to find with 4.10's but I'm not sure about what to do for the rear. What are the disadvantages to a 8.8? I remember reading it was narrower than the stock axle, how much though? I like the idea of disk brakes on the newer ones and a posi since I currently have open diffs F and R. My truck is SOA so I'll have to do some welding either way. It seems like the 2 common swaps are the 8.8 or a D44, am I missing any easy swap options?
