jimoshel
In the last year I've gone thru 15-16 XJ'S. All of them were 4WD. In the same period I've had 7 MJ'S. Only two were 4WD. How come? MJ drivers are better drivers so never get stuck? MJ were only sold in the deep South? Just wondering.Jim Of the 5 2WD MJ'S I converted 2 to 4WD using parts from XJ'S. smithe1811
i think it was only like 25% of MJ's made were 4x4. not sure why though. Erik
JeepcoMJ
mj's were more utility hauling, and not thought of as a family/daily driver vehicle, so not many were 4x4.
kro10000
To compete with other pickups at the time, prior to the MJ, all jeep pickups were 4x4, but 4wd adds cost to the bottom line, and reduces efficiency and payload, most compact pickups were and are 2wd
