A couple 2.5 vacuum and electrical what-goes-where questions

Recommended Posts

'86 2.5 904 207 with AC.

These are coming off the heater core, where do they go?

See the long skinny hose hanging over the front panel? Also, please notice it's extreme length.

Here's where it goes on this end (swooping from right to left). What about the other end?

There's a vacuum line missing here too, to the left of the one connected. Eh?

And I think this is the MAP sensor, but where should the plug be that goes to this? I can't find it, and all the rest of my electrical is hooked up...

I think that's it for now.

i have an 86 with the 4 banger in it, i'll look around the engine compartment on mine and see if those lines are the same as in your pics and see what help i can be. i bet the long line goes down behind the front bumper as i think there is a vacum canister located there but i'll have to check.

1ST pic: black should be vacuum supply to heater controls.Should tee in to the longblack hose that runs to the front pass side. Other line with the elbow goes to a heater line water valve to close off hot coolant from getting to the heater core during AC operation. These were prone to leaking and may have been remove by PO.Valve not essential, but plug the line as it will bleed vacuum.

2ND pic: As Mike stated, should go to a vacuum reservoir behind the fromt bumper.

3RD pic:same hose

4TH pic:That nipple is just a air bleed for the cruise servo.I belive that there used to be a litttle foam breather cap on that. Don't plug it if yopu want your cruise to work.

5TH: Yes that is the MAP. The connector is most likely a green three pin and it has to be there someplace. It should pigtail off the harness that goes to the TB etc.

It all makes sense now! We hadn't installed the heater control valve yet, so that explains that one. Also, we don't have that front canister, I'll have to get one. Now, I gotta find that connector!!!

Thank you!
