dasbrick Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Yeah, the subject says it all. What could cause a rattling transmission? Sounds like a spray can's ball knocking around in there, also, every so often especially in reverse and first, it makes a CLUNK -CLUNK -CLUNK noise. Low gear oil? Bad bearing? It's a Ba-10/5.
Geonovast Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Are all 4 bolts holding the transmission to the motor tight?
dasbrick Posted February 8, 2010 Author Posted February 8, 2010 I can check but how would they get loose!?
Geonovast Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Ask the two that jumped ship on me. I'd ask, but I can't find them.
jimoshel Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Nuts, bolts work loose. That's why they have cotter pins and safety wire for those in critical places.
