Belt routing... hmm.

I have No A/C, no mech fan, and I'm tired of blowing alternators... Thought I saw a thread to do this before, but I'm not sure.

 

 

So, if this is stock:

I'm not sure if I should keep the idler or not.

 

 

 

Alternativly, I wanted to use the YJ V-belt setup. I have a v-belt PS pump and Alt already. However, I'd need some new pullies and a water pump...

I like the first one, but I could see slippage at the crank as a problem since you're only engaging about %50 of the pulley.

On #1, would you still be able to tension the belt via the P/S pump? Doesn't look like you'd be able to get much adjustment with the belt running over the top of the pulley vs. around the side.

Should be able to. There's a similar mod where you ditch the idler. The only difference is with mine you ditch the mech. fan and alternator location too.
