are.ilm2
Alright, I'm a newbie to the MJ club. I'd really love the forum's insight on the plastic valve cover on my 4 cylinder '89 Comanche. It's already causing me problems and I was wondering if they make a replacement in metal. Can I get one off a XJ? Also, will XJ bucket seats work well to replace the bench seat? Thanks, A
batafish22
i'm not sure about the valve cover off an XJ working, but my ol' man drives an '88 comanche with XJ bucket seats in it, and my understanding is that the buckets out of a 2 door XJ will bolt right in place of the bench seat. JeepcoMJ
you need to combine the xj seat bases with the mj ones to make mj bucket seat bases. so far as the valve cover goes, get one from a '91+ 4 cyl jeep. they are aluminum
88SporTruck
Whoever spec'd those plastic valve covers should be shot. mine is cracked around the bolt holes in several places and was puking oil all over the manifolds. some washers and a new gasket have cured it for now but a replacement metal one is going to be necessary.
