possum Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 What is the thread size for the shifter knob on a 1987 AX4?
DJM/78 Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Do you have any nuts laying around , that you could test fit the thread ?
possum Posted January 21, 2010 Author Posted January 21, 2010 Trying to replace the knob. The current one is loc-tited on so I really don't want to remove it unless I have to.
DJM/78 Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Mine was glued as well , but the thread on the shifter comes out , you can put that thing in whatever you want . Glue it back on and re-locktite the thread . Here is mine I used a real pool ball for like 20 bucks . Used the stock thread and nut .
mjeff87 Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 ^^^I had a cue ball as a shift knob on mine, just drilled a hole a bit smaller than the stud and screwed it on. The stud cut the threads into the innards of the 'ball. Then the a**hole neighbor kids stole it one day...... Jeff
1986Comanche Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 What is the thread size for the shifter knob on a 1987 AX4? The shifter knob thread size is 10.0 X 1.50. The die that I have is an M10. It's metric thread. I hope this info helps.
possum Posted January 21, 2010 Author Posted January 21, 2010 Cool that is what I was looking for. Thanks again!
