Jakeman17
I was driving to my friends house and i went to push the clutch in(i was in 3rd) and the pedal had no pressure until about the floor. So When it is out of gear the pedal is normal. wHEN IN GEAR THE pedal is almost non existance. THere is no fluid on or by the fuse box...

Eagle
There are only three possibilities -- the master cylinder, the slave cylinder, or the hose/line that connects the two. You have to check all three to determine which one is causing the problem. But ... This does not make any sense: So When it is out of gear the pedal is normal. wHEN IN GEAR THE pedal is almost non existance. The clutch does not know or care whether or not the transmission is in gear. The clutch pedal pushes a column of hydraulic fluid that presses against the clutch fingers to move the pressure plate away from the flywheel and clutch disk. Being in gear or not doesn't in any way affect that. Please try it again and pay more careful attention to what it's doing. More than likely, you were almost out of fluid and happened to catch the last few drops when you thought it felt normal. Jakeman17
The fluid is full. It did matter in or put of gear. In gear it went to floor. Out of gear I had to put effort to push it
JeepcoMJ
let's just throw the ax15 in it and get the 4x swap done a.s.a.p. so you don't even have to worry about it...

Automan2164
Maybe the master has an internal seal leak? Are you positive that there isn't fluid coming down the firewall? Rob L.
Jakeman17
Yes I just checked. Fluid levels are still the same as yesterday I was feeling around nothing was wet
Automan2164
Well if you can hear that "sound" it could be fluid leaking past the piston in the master... Rob L.

Eagle
So i can change one MC which one Clutch or Brake? You are having a problem with the clutch. Why would you consider changing the brake master cylinder? I know you want to get your truck fixed, and I sympathize. But you're not thinking. You're just going to go out and throw a part at it, hoping you change the right part. If you don't, you'll just end up changing one unnecessary part after another, spend a lot of money, and maybe you'll eventually get it fixed. Slow down, take a deep breath, and figure out what's wrong before you start throwing parts at it.
Jakeman17
I understand that but I need to be able to drive it on Monday. The master cylinder(brake) need to be changed there is a nice hissing noise when I'm on the brakes and pedal slowly goes to the floor. I have to be able to drive it until theres a chance to get it completely fixed
