Amigos,

 

Just to give some background, i replaced the fuel tank, and rebuild the fuel sending unit, everything seems to be fine with that, after putting some fresh fuel i tried to start the truck but no luck. The truck its being sitting for a couple of years that why i change the fuel tank because it was really bad, also it had bad fuel in it. (I drained out all the bad fuel from the system).

 

This is what i done lately (last 3 months)

-New sparks plugs and wires

-New distributor cap and rotor

-oil change

- new cps sensor

 

Any ideas of what i could do. Also if you guys know of a good mechanic in the Atlanta area please let me know, I travel quite often for work, and it is really hard for me now invest a weekend working on "La Comanche"

Shellacked (sp?) fuel can do very bad things to the system.

Better check all your lines & replace your injectors.

 

Also, before doing that, are you getting spark??

You mean varnish?:) Like Pete said,make sure you are getting spark and fuel first. Did you replace the fuel filter as well?

yes i did replace the fuel filter, i'm not to sure that i'm getting the right pressure, i hooked the pressure gauge to the fuel rail and i got around 40 - 45 psi.

 

I need to check for spark, what will be the best way to check for spark?

where in the atlanta area? i work at a shop in snellville and my boss is as good as you could find when it comes to mechanics.

 

40-45 psi on the fuel pressure is more than enough, it's actually supposed to be 39 with no vacuum to the regulator and 31 at idle with vacuum to the regulator... but that shouldn't cause major problems.
