Interior pillar light upgrade

Did some quick searching, and found some fixes and upgrades for the pillar lights that looked ok. My questions is has anyone found any LED or newer "looking" brighter pillar lights that will fit/or be made to fit in the stock location. I am tempted to run a slimline fluorescent accent light above the rear window, and wire it in to come on with the doors open (maybe to bright?)
