1987Comanche Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 What year did Jeep change from the old school font on the gauges to the newer style red/white lettering? Also was it possible to get a 4.0L truck with the bare bones idiot light cluster (old style font) in 90? I'm wondering how accurate the mileage is on the truck I'm looking at purchasing and I hadn't seen any '90+ models with the old style cluster except this one.
veritas4156 Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 My 1991 has the old school font/gauge cluster I believe. I'll take pics and post them so you guys can verify. I'm not 100% fluent in MJs and XJs yet, spent the past few years with YJs.
88XJSport Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 All base gauge clusters are blue faced, the full clusters after 1988 are red/black. They used the blue/white base gauges all the way through the 96 XJ.
