MAT Sensor

I was wondering where I can get a MAT sensor for my 88 manche with the 4.0 (renix)? I need one and can't see to find it through autoparts stores. Do I have to get this through the dealer or used?

Do you mean MAP sensor? I don't recall any MAT sensors.

 

If you mean MAP, Rockauto has them.

Intake maniflod air sensor......I feel your pain. Finally figured out that this is my problem, but couldn't find one locally either. Here is a couple links to get one online.

Rigidsteel is about 15 bucks cheaper shipped to the door, so that's who I'll probably order it from.

be careful when removing the old one from the manifold......I swapped one on my old 2.5 and the old one snapped clean off at the threads, flush with the manifold. I ended up having to use a fluted extractor to turn the remnants of it out and then clean out the manifold before installing the new one :fs1:

 

It's a brass fitting into an aluminum manifold (dissimilar metals), and the factory loctite didn't help the situation any, either.....

Thanks! Just what I needed, I got on rigid steel and ordered the 1987-90 2.5L & 4.0L XJ Cherokee, on intake manifold temperature sensor. Hopefully that is the right one as the description was off.

I gave up on Rigid-Steel.....from the ad in classifieds looks like they are going under.
