Pete M
How much are you looking to swap? Just the block? or the whole enchilada?
smithe1811
The whole kit n kaboodle, i want to ditch the renix & ba/10 for the HO & ax15.
Pete M
Step 1: buy an HO XJ Step 2: swap over everything :D Seriously though, there are some hiccups in the swap and I'm failing to find the right threads. Dang I hate our search engine. :fs1: Most are related to fuel. The lines are different, the wires are different, etc. Something like that.
smithe1811
Crap, all i want is an H.O. MJ, is that so much to ask?
Pete M
You could buy one. :brows: Personally i prefer the renix MJs. :D
smithe1811
believe me if i had the funds i would, especially that one in pieces in VA. Perfect for me. or if someone wanted to trade me one that would be cool too. What about the fuel system is different? Maybe Alex(grs86mj) would still want to swap.J/K, in case anyone remembers that drawn out ordeal.
Pete M
My brain is struggling here, but I seem to remember something about the fuel lines were set up differently and the fuel level sender reads backwards and even if you flip the wires it'll still be wrong since the ohms were different. The renix and HO systems are, at the same time identical and yet very very different. may I ask why you want the Chrysler system?
smithe1811
More aftermarket for it. I'm cosnstantly finding people with newer 4.0 parts and not so many renix.
Pete M
What all do you need? Just looking for more power?
smithe1811
yup, for the most part. also like i said with the larger aftermarket i have more options.

smithe1811
I have some 3:55's in my parts truck i planned on utting in which would be a big step up from my 3:07's. But if i had an H.O along with the better geart then it would be that much better.
Geonovast
If you're just looking for power, why not build yourself a stroker?
Pete M
Never underestimate the power of gearing to put a huge smile on your face. :D Look into 4.10s if you want even more grunt.
smithe1811
I had some 4:10's but i wanted something a little more highway friendly.
Pete M
4.10s work just fine with 31s on the highway. I've got 3.92s and 28" tires in my Dak R/T. The lowest possible rpms don't necessarily translate directly into better mpgs.
smithe1811
I'm not so much concerned wuth MPG's as much as....i guess comfort? no thats not right, i don't know what I'm trying to explain... :???:

smithe1811
sorry, I'm multitasking and confusing myself a little, basically i want to be able to run at 70 mph without breaking anything. i figured 3:55's would just be the best gear for me. ;)
Geonovast
2.5s run at 70 mph with 4.10s and smaller wheels all the time without breaking. If you bump yourself up to 31s, you'll be just fine.
Pete M
You won't break a thing. Don't sweat it. As Geo said, a lot of MJs run even higher rpms.
smithe1811
i already yhave 31's and i already have the 3:55's. after i got rid of my last set of 4:10's i seartched and turned up nothing before i decided 3:55's were for me. but regardless of gears i still want the H.O. I know that eventually i want to go to 6 inches or so of lift and go to 33's in which case I'm sure the 4:10's would be more beneficial especially now that i know i can run at highway speeds with the 4:10 comfortably. Pete M
With 33s I'd bump up that ratio to 4.56.
