87 comanche
I have bought a set of axels from a 4cyl comanche with 410 gears that I am looking to swap in. But on my 87 I have an arm that connects to my rear diff what is this for? Also I thought I had 307 gears stock but reading an earlier post it was said they had 355s. Also I was looking for the speedo gear for the changeout but discountmopar doesnt carry them any more don't realy want to pay 60 at the dealer. Does anyone know of any where else to find one? Thanks
LEAD_NOT_FOLLOW
The arm goes to the rear brake proportioning valve. It should be vertical and the arm on the valve should be horizontal. Chrysler jacked up the price on the speedo gears about 9-10 months ago. If you can find someone who's got them on the shelf and does not know about the price increase you may be able to get one for cheap, otherwise your going to pay the higher rate. They all come from Chrysler, so unless you can find someone who makes them (I don't know of any such company) your stuck paying the higher rate. Also their is a "short" shaft and a "long" shaft, make sure you get the correct one for your TC.

Thanks Why are you doing an axle swap? If its bacause you plan on running bigger meats, the bigger tires will take up some of the difference. If you plan your gears and tire correct, the gears you gain could be offset by the size of the tire, and put you right back to where you need to be. 87 comanche
I've had the axles for a couple of weeks now but noticed the other ones doesn't have the brake valve arm on the rear axle. They were off a 4cyl 87 comanche what to do now? I have just put a 3'" lift on with some 05 rubi wheels would like the 4:10s to push the 31s. What do I do with the valve arm? :dunno:
Geonovast
The arm goes to a bracket that's bolted to the axle using two of the diff cover bolts. Just bolt that bracket onto the new axle. Since you're putting in a lift, and if you want to keep the prop valve, you should take a look at this- viewtopic.php?f=9&t=17968
