Water thru vents

Recommended Posts

Last night it was raining hard on my way home from work. When i got home i noticed my passenger side kick panel, lower dash were wet and there was a small puddle on the mat. After looking the water had come from up in the dash. The wiring in the dash around the knee board lights were all wet. There was also water up on the dash on the pass side that appeared to come in thru the defrost vent. I had put the defroster on with the temp slid over to cold before driving up a street with many puddles. I know this just pulls air in from outside so is it possible it also let water in?

mine does this everytime it rains, there is an opening under the cowl this is where it pulls air from. you could remove the cowl cover and check in there.

mine leaks because for some reason someone thought it would be a good idea butcher the air inlet.

Possibly condesation? On a hot, muggy day, does your air conditioner leave puddles on the pavement when you park? It should. If it doesn't, the drain line is clogged and the condesate is backing up in the pelnum ... until it overflows.
