shift location change?

how hard would it be to make a console shift into a floor shift?

not difficult.

find a donor XJ and take it's steering column and floor shifter/console. It's all bolt in.

Make sure you get the right one. I'm not sure that an AW-4 shifter will work with the older 3-speeds.

I didn't think of that.

I forgot you've got the 86.

Might want to find an auto that used the same trans, then modify it's shift cable so you can use the aw4 shifter :)

well my 86 does have a floor shift. i am talking about doing to any mj that i find to replace my 86. all i come across it seems is console shift ones. and i am out there looking to replace my 86 asap. i am just sick of the weak power of the 2.8L and would rather have a 4.0L so i know my way around. but i prefer a floor shift.
