They blow up. Mine blew a hole out the side of the trans while I was just tooling along with traffic on the freeway. :dunno:

They are barely adequate for a stock 4.0L with street tires.

The renix and a 96 HO do not share a common crankshaft hole for the bearing. Both the inner and outer diameters of the pilot bearings changed.

thanks pete, you may have saved me a huge headache(s)

hmm so i need the pilot bearing from a 73 cj5 W/ 304 3 speed, and i need to do this ax15 swap... maybe someone is interested in trading some parts :(

The CJ bushing will only work with swapping a late model AX-15 onto a renix era 4.0. If you're using an HO 4.0, you just need the AX-15 and the appropriate factory bearing.

Pump? Yes, it'll still pump fuel.

Fuel level sender? The gauge will read backwards because they switch the polarity in 91. And someone correct me if I'm remembering this wrong, but I think if you swap the positive and neg wires, it still won't be perfectly accurate.

Hey Gr8, when you are ready to test the truck out off-road, let me know. I am near Junction City, just a short drive up to Tuttle for the best wheelin' in KS :clapping:
