What you list is the equivalent of an electric master cylinder. Yes, it will hold your brakes, right up until a hydraulic failure, which is the whole premise of a separate mechanical brake. For the couple hundred bucks and several hours you would spend on one of these, seems to me you could fix the emergency brake? Would be much safer in the long run, and you might even get lucky and find that the fix isn't that bad.

haha alright. ill look into fixing my parking brake. everything in the system works but the ratcheting mechanism. any ideas on how to fix it?

You can get someone to pull the whole foot brake for you and replace it,, or pull yours and make sure its good and clean and that all the springs are there.. Where the heck is Wildman when you need him??? He knows alot about this park, i mean part, of the mj..

haha pun intended? i would have pulled it before but it looks like the whole thing is riveted in. i dunno how fun it would be to pull that out lol.
